The Importance of Sadhana and Its Impact on Our Karma

"At first you may think that sadhana is a limited part of your life. In time you realize that everything you do is part of your sadhana." - Ram Dass For those along the spiritual path, we're always looking for ways to deepen our connection with Self and all of existence. We understand how important the feeling of peace and oneness is towards our well-being and soul evolution. Despite this understanding, it can be tricky to find the practices in which helps us achieve these states and staying consistent with them as well. In this post, we explore the necessity behind sadhana and how impactful it can be towards our journey to wholeness and our karmic cycles.  Sadhana in Sanskrit refers to one's spiritual practice/discipline. Sadhana acts as our tool for greater oneness and realization of the spiritual truth that lies within us and all things. With that being said, it's important to know that ANYTHING can be our sadhana! The way we talk, the way we move, the way we...

I'm Spiritual but Just Not Today...

I'm not perfect. No one is. However, I've found a sense of gratitude and growth through facing my imperfections and turning them into lessons for myself and others, especially those on the spiritual path. One thing I must admit is that I struggle with the consistency needed to fulfill my dedication to the spiritual path. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue. However, this issue can resonate for the ones that have a certain desire to bring about something in their lives but struggle to be consistent with it.  It can be tough to wake up in the morning and go about my routine to promote a well energized day. I usually wake up before or right at dawn, shower, meditate, write, stretch and get a workout in before I head to work. Throughout the day and going into the evening, I like to write down any ideas towards future endeavors and listen to podcasts or audiobooks. However, lately it's been tough for me especially when it pertains to my spiritual path and growt...

Transcendent Relationships

Relationships in the human experience are one of the most important aspects of life. We all seek them instinctively and that's completely normal and what's right. Our culture and society today could never be if it wasn't for the relationships we made in the past and even today. One thing I've noticed, however, is that within all our relationships (past, present and future), there lies a greater possibility. A possibility of personal and collective transcendence. For us to awaken to those possibilities and opportunities of growth, we must shift our understanding of what relationships mean and why we have them in the first place. Not just relationships of boyfriend/girlfriend or marriage, but the relationships with families, friends, the workplace, nature and everything that's part of the environment around us and, most importantly, within us.  Reimagining the Meaning of Relationships When you hear the word "relationship", what comes to mind? Picture it. Man...

Adversity Has a Purpose

Today, as individuals and as a collective, adversity is a constant we all face in this world. Many of us, however, want to avoid the challenges life brings us and to take the easy route to success or to solve any problems. This cannot be the case, especially when we face challenges towards certain goals we desire to accomplish. Perhaps the problem isn't the challenges and obstacles but rather our perception of adversity and what it truly is. If adversity is a constant, no matter who or where you are, then it must serve a purpose by some means.  What if I told you, no matter the challenge you face, adversity has a purpose within our lives? That it may be a tool for growth rather than something to bring us down? Adversity comes in many shapes and sizes. You could have relationship issues with family or a significant other that causes arguments and disagreements. You could be facing challenges within the workplace when work becomes stressful or not seeing eye to eye with coworkers or ...

The Art of Storytelling

You are in control of your own narrative!  When we think of the word 'storytelling', our mind often goes straight to stories out of books, films, plays and even games we play. But what we must realize is the fact that as we live our lives, we are creating the story of who we are and our destinies in real time! To realize this also helps us become aware that we are co-creators of this reality, objectively and subjectively. We, as individuals and a unit, continuously help create God's creation. As we help God write the story of the cosmos and the material reality, God helps in the development of our story.  God, being the deepest part of us, is the creator of all things, including ourselves. It is our natural ambition and duty to create since God lives within us. Whether it be art, new ideas, problem solving, and even just becoming a better person, our desire to create is always active. If you aren't creative, then you aren't human! Every human being has the superpowe...

The Relationship of Commitment and Consistency

"Without commitment, you'll never start, but most importantly, without consistency, you'll never finish." -Denzel Washington  As human beings, we are constantly striving to create and achieve goals that helps us grow within this Earthly experience. These goals can range from a variety of things like creating music, graduating college, having a workout plan to achieve a desired physique, etc. However, what each goal has in common is that they require the relationship of commitment and consistency to reach completion.  Speaking from personal experience, I've always been one to have trouble either committing to a particular goal or selecting a goal and not having the discipline to be consistent towards that goal. I learned that both commitment and consistency must go hand and hand. You cannot get to where you want to be without going all in and committing to it and the consistency of doing the necessary actions and having discipline to achieve your desired goal(s). T...

What is True Wealth?

Wealth is a very broad term that can be perceived in many ways. The idea of what wealth is varies depending upon the individual, and even the collective. One thing I've noticed in today's culture, especially here in America, is that when the word "Wealth" is brought up, many resort to wealth being money and material items. However, I've learned throughout my journey that only thinking of wealth as money or any material object minimizes the true definition and vision of what true wealth is in reality.  My spiritual journey has put me through a multitude of experiences which has reshaped my life in so many ways; one of those being redefining what wealth is and means to me. I've always been quick to visualize wealth as: being millionaire/billionaire, nice cars and clothes, the private jet, the yacht, etc. like many of us do. While these may be described as wealth in some way shape or form, that word holds more depth than just material objects and a rich lifestyle...
